Checklist for 3D tour recordings

How to put your property in the limelight

Congratulations, you are lucky that your property is photographed for a Matterport 3D tour. If you are unfamiliar with this technology, please see yourself with this link an example of how great such a 3D tour can look.

So that your 3D tour recording is as successful as you want it to be, we would like to give you a few tips on how you can optimally prepare your object for the 3D tour recordings:

Before recording | Prepare everything

  • The golden rule. The camera sees everything | Everything that is visible can later also be seen in the 3D tour, comparable to what a person can see when moving in the room. And due to the technical limitations of the Matterport system, we can no longer correct the 3D tour recordings later.
  • To clean up. Everything from the point of view | Please don't just organize (your personal) things on the shelves, try to get as much out of sight as possible. Place objects such as writing utensils, letters, magazines or packaging, Toy, Dress, Shoes, Towels, Garbage cans, dog bowls, all personal items etc. in closets or sideboards if possible. Please make everything as clean as if no one had lived or worked there before. Shake up the pillows or pillows and make the beds if necessary. An organized object just keeps looking better in photos.
  • Check the lamps | Please make sure that all lights are ready for operation and replace any missing or non-working light bulbs. A well-lit object always looks better - especially on a 3D tour.
  • Personal | Please remove personal photos. And please remove all of them too personal items that you do not want to see in the 3D tour.
  • Kitchens | Please clean the sink and put the dishes away. Clean the work surfaces and, if necessary, remove devices such as a toaster or the washing-up utensils. Let your kitchen shine.
  • Bathrooms and toilets | Please remove your personal items from the bathrooms, such as shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothbrush, etc. And if possible, please also place the good guest towels.
  • Flowers | Fresh flowers always look fantastic.
  • Doubt? | And if you have any doubts, please let it out.

Outdoor area

  • Clean lawn | Please ensure that the lawn is well-tended and clean. Remove garden tools. Please put away buckets, hoses, sprinklers, bicycles, etc.
  • Well-kept terraces | Please clean the furniture and open the grill and parasol.
  • Garden gnomes | Please hide garden gnomes and other cute decorations.
  • Pool | Please open the cover and make sure the pool is clean.
  • Last look | Then please have a look around. If there is anything else lying around, please put it out of sight.

The day of admission | The final preparations

  • Lamps on | Please switch on all interior lights first.
  • Blinds on | Please open the blinds and curtains.
  • Cars away | Please drive your vehicles away from the entrance or the driveway, if possible out of sight.
  • Pets | If you have pets, please move them to a safe place.
  • Do yourself | When you have brought your home to a cinematic state, please find something to keep you occupied during the shoot so that you don't get in the way of the photographer.
  • One last tip | Keep your valuables in a safe and hidden place. On a 3D virtual tour, you will have a lot of people virtually walking through the object.
